Medical Qualifications
Prof Chris Nutting qualified from the University of London in 1992. He has subsequently been awarded a Medical Doctorate for his research work at The Institute of Cancer Research at the University of London.
Prof Nutting has received Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), the Royal College of Radiologists (UK), and the European Society of Medical Oncology. In 2000 Dr Nutting was awarded an Advanced Certificate in Health Care Management from Imperial College Business School.
Medical Experience
Prof Nutting is the Director of the Head and Neck Unit, Royal Marsden Hospital where he was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist in 2001. He is currently Honorary Senior Lecturer in Clinical Oncology at The Institute of Cancer Research and treats private patients at Parkside Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic, London.
Since 2003 Prof Nutting has been a member of the National Cancer Research Institute Committee (NCRI) for head and neck cancer research and became Chairman in 2006. In 2007 he became President of the British Oncological Association, and was elected Honorary Faculty member at The Institute for Cancer Research.
He specialises in the treatment of head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer and thorax cancer. He is an expert in solid cancer treatment and uses state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques such as conformal and intensity-modulated radiotherapy designed to reduce complications of treatment and improve cure rates.
