Medical Qualifications
Mr Vinod Nargund is a consultant urological surgeon with an interest in urological cancers and andrology (male infertility and erectile problems). He is a Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh, and European Board of Urology. Prior to his consultant appointment he was a Clinical Lecturer in Renal Transplantation and honorary Senior Registrar at the University of Oxford, Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals in Oxford. He was awarded PhD for his research work on the biological behaviour of bladder cancer.
Medical Experience
Mr Nargund is Consultant Urological/Laparoscopic Surgeon at the Homerton University Hospital in London, where he has been working since 1997. He was the lead Uro-oncological Surgeon at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London from 2000-2011 and chairman of Multi-disciplinary team till 2003-2010. He specialises in Urological Oncology and Andrology including Complex Kidney Surgery, testicular cancer and Laparoscopic Surgery. He is also Principal Editor of a short text-book ‘Urological Oncology’ which is currently running into 2nd edition. Mr Nargund is available for private patients at The Wellington Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital, London.
Mr Nargund was nominated by his patients for the London Evening Standard and the King’s Fund NHS Champion in 2002, as well as being nominated for the NHS Innovator Award in 2008, receiving High Commendation in Medical Devices & Equipment Category.
Mr Nargund is a Member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), Endourology Section and Oncology Section; the British Medical Association (BMA); the European Association of Urology (EAU); and the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC).
