Medical Qualifications
Mr Martin Bailey completed his medical qualifications at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London and went on to complete further training in Otolaryngology at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children; the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital; and at the Sussex Throat and Ear Hospital, Brighton. He subsequently undertook a TWJ Clinical and Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, USA.
He is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Medical Experience
Mr Bailey is a council member of the Royal Society of Medicine as well as Past-President of the British Association for Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology and the Section of Laryngology & Rhinology of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Mr Bailey has published and lectured extensively on various aspects of paediatric otolaryngology. He has been Assistant Editor of the Journal of Laryngology & Otology since 1996 and joined the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology in 2004. He has been an Examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in Otolaryngology (2000 - 2005).
Mr Bailey is a Consultant Children's ENT Specialist at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children, London; and an Honorary Consultant Paediatric ENT Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London. He specialises in the treatment of all types of ear, nose and throat problems in children. He has a particular clinical interest in middle ear and mastoid surgery and the management of airway obstruction in children.
