Medical Qualifications
Mr Jig Patel gained his initial medical qualification from Southampton University in 1991. He then went on to be awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Dublin and England as well as Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics).
Medical Experience
Mr Patel became a Consultant at King's College Hospital, London in 2001 and went on to join University College Hospital in January 2004 where he is currently a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. Mr Patel is a founding member of The London Orthopaedic Clinic as well as a member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK).
Mr Patel undertook specialist training at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London and this training was advanced by a fellowship in London, Ontario, Canada, specialising in hip and knee surgery. Surgical procedures specialised by Mr Patel, include knee arthroscopy, knee ligament reconstruction, hip and knee replacements, computer-guided surgery and revision hip and revision knee replacements. He is available to treat private patients at the Lister Hospital, London.
