Medical Qualifications
Mr Dae Kim qualified in 1995 from Edinbrugh University with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree, he went on to qualify in Dentistry from Birmingham University in 2001. He completed a PhD at Birmingham University in 2006 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009.
Mr Kim completed training at Edinburgh and Cambridge teaching hospitals as well as specialist training in ENT surgery in the West Midlands. He completed an Advanced Fellowship in Toronto, Canada in Head and Neck Oncology and Endocrine Surgery.
Medical Experience
Mr Kim was research fellow at the Harvard Medical School, USA and was awarded the prestigious 'Syme Medal' by the Royal College of Surgeons for his PhD doctorate examining the molecular basis of both thyroid and head and neck cancers.
Mr Kim is a Consultant ENT & Thyroid Surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, Portsmouth as well as St Richard's Hospital, Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, Chichester. He is Honorary Senior Lecturer for Cancer Studies at Cancer Research UK, Southampton University. He is available to treat private patients at the Spire Portsmouth Hospital and Nuffield Health Chichester Hospital.
Mr Kim specialises in general ENT surgery, voice disorders, snoring, head and neck lumps, head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery and parathyroid surgery. He has particular clinical interests in the use of lasers in ENT, minimally-invasive endoscopic thyroid and parathyroid surgery alongside da Vinci robotic thyroid surgery and TransOral Robotic Surgery (TORS).
