Medical Qualifications
Dr Elliot Smith completed a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Basic Medical Sciences and Psychology at University College London in 1991 and went on to qualify from Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital Medical School with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree, in 1994. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London, in 1997 and was awarded a Medical Doctorate from Queen Mary, University of London in 2007.
Medical Experience
Dr Smith is a member of the British Cardiovascular Society and a member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society. He is a part of the London Cardiology Practice, a group of cardiology consultants committed to excellence in cardiology care, providing immediate urgent access for patients 365 days a year. He is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the London Chest Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust and Consultant Cardiologist at Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust. He is available for private patients at The Wellington Hospital, St John's Wood, London.
Dr Smith has trained in all aspects of cardiology and has a particular interest in coronary disease, angioplasty and stenting. He has particular experience in complex techniques including chronic occlusion angioplasty and rotational atherectomy. He specialises in interventional cardiology which includes angioplasty, stenting, transradial interventions, rotational atherectomy and chronic total occlusions. He also specialises in general cardiology including chest pain, hypertension, palpitations, heart failure and valve disease.
